The Location
Holbox Island is located off the northern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula about 2 hours drive north of Tulum Followed by a boat ride of 20 minutes to Isla Holbox. From there the boats embark to see the Whalesharks.
Holbox Whale Shark Tour Itinerary and Details
- The Van picks you up at 5:00 am from your hotel and in about 2 hours you arrive at Chiquila.
- A boat picks you up and takes you to a fine Restaurant Hotel on Isla Holbox where you can enjoy coffee, tea and cookies.
- You receive a thorough briefing and explanation of the tour.
- 8:15am You depart from the dock on your comfortable, safe twin engine boat. Box lunch is provided on board.
- Once you find the Whalesharks, you snorkel with them two by two with a guide. It's hard to imagine how big they are until you get up close. What a thrill!!
- Boat returns to the dock at 12:15pm
- A generous and delicious buffet lunch is provided at the Restaurant Hotel
- At 2:00pm return to Chiquila by boat
- Van departs from Chiquila at 2:30pm and drops youoff at your hotel at about 6:30pm
